26th to 4th at the 2025 San Felipe 250

What a wild few days it’s been down in Baja for the San Felipe 250.

We had a flawless pre-run, which is always the goal, especially on a course as fast and punishing as this one. We spent a hell of a lot of time in the Can-Am Maverick X3s scouting lines, looking for any edge we could find. Big thanks to Paul for letting me jump into the 6100 truck and really get up to pace in some key sections, which made a huge difference in dialing things in.

Unfortunately, our luck took a bit of a hit in qualifying. You know the old saying… some days you’re the hammer and some days you’re the nail. Well, we were the nail that day. A serpentine belt let go about halfway through our run, which parked us way down the starting order in 26th. Wasn’t ideal, but that’s racing. Just had to reset and focus on the job ahead. Hopefully the arm pump I got wrestling it in qualifying settles down before race day too, had a solid laugh about that one.

Come race day, it was time to put our heads down and get to work. Off the line and straight into the dust, but we made up good ground early. By Race Mile 70, we’d already passed seven trucks and had a solid pace going. There were a lot of vehicles in front of us, so finding clean air was tough, and we had to gamble on running alternate lines just to get out of the dust or make something stick.

We kept that momentum going and by Race Mile 180, I handed the truck over to Paul in great shape. From there, Paul and Brent did a terrific job bringing it home. We crossed the line 4th outright, which is a solid result considering we started 26th. To have just 1 minute and 12 seconds separating 1st and 4th after 250 miles of racing just shows how tight this sport really is.

Massive thanks to the whole team for the effort all weekend. We’ve got a strong package, and this race gave us a lot to be proud of. Really looking forward to the Baja 400 coming up on June 7, it'll be here before we know it.

Time to keep building.
