Price Debuts Indigenous Livery for 2023 Finke Desert Race 🏜

Toby Price has revealed his 2023 Finke Desert Race Livery, dedicating it to the Alice Springs Community as a ‘thank-you’ for continually hosting Australia’s toughest off-road race.

In collaboration with Ngalin Ayeye/Our Yarn (Nah-lin Ah yeya), Price has updated his Red Bull livery for this year's race to include the piece “Sacred Country” painted by First Nations artists Matt Robert & Ambrose Killian.

“The centre of the piece represents the location and community in which the Finke race takes place - around the outside of the centre community circle are 8 dot circles which can represent a place or destination and in this instance, it represents the 8 times Toby has won the race, each year achieving something amazing on his own journey,” Robert & Killian explain.

“From the outside, these circular patterns represent and pay respect to the terrain around the Finke. From the dunes and terrain on Arrernte country, to the harsh landscape near Aputula and all in-between.

“The next inside layer featured in blue represents the ancient walking tracks walked by mob through the desert and their connection and knowledge of the underground and often hidden water holes.”

With continued support from Red Bull, Mitsubishi Motors, ARB 4X4, Blundstone, Can-Am & BF Goodrich, Price is looking to claim his third consecutive Car Category win at this years race and is looking forward to the challenge with a new paint scheme.

“I’m super excited to show off something a little bit different for the race this year, everyone loved it when I had a white truck to release the Mitsubishi Body and we’ve been thinking of different ways we can change it up,” said Price.

“To be able to work with Ngalin Ayeye and create something to relate to the Alice Community and thank them for all the times they have hosted this race and continue to do so is super special.”

Price has also created limited edition Merchandise to match the livery, which is now on sale at www.tp87.com.au with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Children’s Ground.

The Finke Desert Race will start on Friday June 9 with Scrutineering Night at the start line, where Price’s truck will be on display.
